Tell us a little bit about yourself. My name is Ligia Gathright and I was born and raised in Romania, a beautiful country in Eastern Europe. My love for photography started with a point-and-shoot camera back in 2005 while I was doing mission work in the Romanian villages alongside American mission teams. Some of my friends used to call me “Istoria” (“history” in English) because I was literally taking pictures of everything and everyone that crossed my path. In 2009 a friend asked me to shoot her wedding day and slowly started to make my transition into the wedding industry. In 2016, I followed my heart, left everything behind – my family, my country, my culture, my language – and moved across the ocean to be with the love of my life, my husband Jordan. Ligia Gathright Photography is a North Carolina wedding photographer based in Raleigh, serving the Southeast and beyond. Ligia specializes in natural light, fine art portrait, and wedding photography and she loves capturing love stories through timeless, authentic, and romantic imagery that will last for generations to come.
your website? I wasn’t happy with my previous WordPress theme, because it didn’t really showcase my brand the way I wanted and I wasn’t able to make as many customizations as I wanted and I felt limited. I had my eyes on Davey and Krista’s Positano WordPress theme since I first came across their website. Purchasing a theme from them was one of the best decisions I made for my business. With Romanian being my first language, the fact that the theme had English placeholder copy with the portrait/wedding photographer in mind, I didn’t have to start from scratch with what words to put on the pages.
of your new website? My favorite part is definitely the Home page. This is the page I was struggling with the most with my previous theme, but now I’m just in love with the layout and how well everything aligns to represent my business the way I wanted to. I also love the freedom you get by customizing through Elementor Pro. Even if you’re not tech-savvy, with the help of the DK support team and all their tutorials through the DK academy that you get access to after your purchase, you can make those desired changes to your website.
people considering re-designing their website should know? If you’re not ready for a full rebrand just yet, purchasing a theme from DK is the perfect next step to elevate your brand. You’d be surprised to find how customizable these themes are if you allocate a little bit of your time, watch the setup-course videos and have some patience along the way. Granted, it would save you time and energy if you let the professionals make these customizations for you. Also, you DON’T need to know code to make basic updates to your site. I personally don’t know code and I was able to make tweaks to my website. However, if you want to make significant changes, then yes, knowing code will benefit you, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a theme already designed by the amazing Davey and Krista Jones!
in your business since your launch? People are finding me on Google, which honestly hardly ever happened before, so it definitely helped with exposure. DK themes are built with search engines in mind and they also offer tips about how to optimize your theme through their set-up course. I started to get more inquiries that fit my ideal client and I always get compliments about how beautiful my website is!

My name is Samantha Cabrera. I'm a wife, mama to two, writer, artist, and editor of Calla Press. As a full-time creative, I now work from home after teaching in the classroom. After suffering from a deep depression, though, I started a Christian literary journal in 2017 for other people to share their stories to glorify Christ. I believe storytelling can change lives, especially in our digital age since there are more people online than ever before. I want to reach these broken people through testimonies and encouraging literary work. Since launching Calla Press, it grew into a full-fledged literary ministry featuring writers from Africa to India; I decided to give it its own beautiful website. your website? I needed a fresh and lovely website that aesthetically was as inviting as I know this ministry is. I do have my own personal website www.samanthacabrerastudio featuring Davey&Krista's Positano theme and I had Calla Press as a page on there, but it was time for it to grow on its own platform and website. So, I took the plunge!
of your new website? I love how Sanibel is fully customizable from fonts to page layout; it worked perfectly for my literary journal. I also love neutrals, and this theme fit like a glove with how I envisioned the online home for Calla Press. Honestly, I'm so grateful for finding Davey&Krista's gorgeous website designs, because I could not have done any of this on my own.
people considering re-designing their website should know? You do not need to be an HTML code-cracker to use Davey Krista's website designs. They are simple to install and use which is something that was very attractive to me in setting up my website. It only took me a couple of days to set up www.callapress.com and it came out exactly as I had hoped. Also, I've had so many writers tell me that they love not only the heart behind Calla Press but how it is aesthetically so inviting on our website. That always feels good!
in your business since your launch? Absolutely! We have a little over 8,000 unique visitors a month to our new website and it has grown into a beautiful space for people to share their literary work and also for readers to interact and comment. On my own website, I was averaging a couple of hundred views a month, partly because that single page was the only spot I was updating new content. Having its own website truly scaled Calla Press to a whole new level.

My background is in education. I was a teacher before my first child was born in 2012 when I stopped working outside the home so I could be home with him and my two daughters who were born a few years later. I'd always had an interest in photography, design, and all extra flourishes that make normal life a little prettier. My husband gifted me a camera to take photos of our son when he was a baby and the photos I shared of him online caught the attention of friends and family. Soon I had people inquiring about me taking their photos, and being the type A personality that I am, I went all in! I threw myself into learning and honing my craft so I could open my photography business. I've been photographing newborns, families, and brands since 2014.
your website? After being in business for several years, I really got to know who I was as a photographer and business and I wanted my website to reflect that. I wanted my website to be a reflection of my professionalism, brand aesthetic, and experience.
of your new website? My favorite part of my website is not a single element, but the RESULTS. It gives me immense confidence and also helps customers find me via SEO. There have been many instances where I meet people and when they learn I'm a photographer they ask if I have a website. After viewing it, I usually get a shocked response and compliments on how beautiful and professional it is. People can't believe I customized it myself from a template.
template? The most important element I was looking for in a template was a timeless design that would not look dated or trendy. I wanted something that complimented my photography without competing with the portraits on the site. I specifically loved how elegant and clean the Positano template looked! When purchasing a template I also wanted to update my logo. I knew I would be able to use the design elements within the template to do just that and have it flow seamlessly with my website.

to see. For example, package? The majority of my photography career was spent in the Atlanta area. In the year following my new website launch, I had my best year yet, almost doubling the income from my previous year. Since then I've moved to Greenville, South Carolina and am now building my business there. The wonderful part about having this great template as a foundation is that I was able to go in and rework my keywords and SEO elements to target my new area while maintaining the design elements.

My name is Wieslaw, I am wedding photographer currently based in Mallorca-Spain. From early childhood I was shooting film photos, those basic and funny landscapes, birds, butterflies and so on. Then, I started my journey 15 years ago in Chile as a fashion and commercial photographer, working with designers, magazines, and advertising agencies. I considering it a very good school, I had to learn how to retouch using photoshop v1 (very different from this day's) no presets or similar. Since over 6 years I am shooting exclusively weddings, couples and proposals, and can’t be more hones that it is my dream “job” I enjoy every single day. your website? I like to stay up to date. I was using FloThemes for years, and now they were sold to other company, limiting design/performance options for those who want only the best from their website and for their clients. I am very focused on aesthetics but also on performance of my website. Every space, fonts, layout is very important to me. I want to make sure, that the website tell an story to potential clients, give them a path to understand my work, and of course, book me for their wedding.
of your new website? I love my home page, probably this the page I make more effort to make it as perfect as possible. You know, “the first impression matter” I expect clients to engage within first few seconds giving them clear information about who I am and what to expect.
template? After deciding to redesign my website, I did months of research to find out the best option for me, considering design and performance. One that catch my eye very quickly was Positano, can’t say exactly what it was, but I think everyone knows the feeling you get into the store and there is something that you feel it’s for you. The same happened to me with Positando. Also, the template description starts with “Inspired by our visit to the Amalfi Coast”, and I am going to shoot a wedding this year in Amalfi Coast, so it all made sense to me. I check the performance of featured websites and decided to try it. I love my new template, still working on a few custom details and improvements, but out of the box it’s just perfect.
in your business since your launch?
to see. For example, package? To be very honest, I just launched the new website 20 days ago, so I don’t have many stats to talk about yet. I have feedback from a few clients, wedding planners and friends that the website is beautiful and easy to navigate. The season in Mallorca starts in April, and I am getting first inquiries after end of the year holidays, but it’s too soon to talk about improvement in my business based on the new design.

I'm a stationery designer based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I had stationery design as a side-hustle, but have been pursuing it full-time since 2019...although I also had a baby (who turns 4 in March!) and pandemics during that time, so it's been a wild few years!
your website? I launched my previous website in 2019 and it served me well. But over the past few years, I've really niched down in my brand to focus on nature-inspired stationery design. I worked with a branding designer to update the visual elements of my brand, and it was definitely time for a new site to showcase my branding plus all of the work I've been so proud of over the past few years!

I really like how the gallery at the top of the homepage works - this is much different than what a lot of other sites in my industry offer, and I feel like is a great way to showcase my work and overall aesthetic. The entire template is beautiful and really worked well with my branding elements to help me differentiate myself and the user experience on my website.

I went to a creative conference with Davey and Krista probably 100 years ago...can't even remember which one, but I've followed you for a long time and have always appreciated the work you do. My background is in Marketing and Communications so I have a lot of experience with Wordpress, and didn't really see an incentive to switch to another platform like Showit...except for the most beautiful templates I was seeing are on that platform these days, as are most of my industry pals. When I realized you also offered Wordpress templates, I was sold - it took me a few weeks to narrow down which template I wanted to use but I've been so pleased and am glad I could stay on Wordpress (controversial, I know haha)!
in your business since your launch?
to see. For example, package? I really focused on SEO as I was working on customizing the template, as well as trying to focus on other organic marketing tactics. I'm pleased to say that in Q4 2024 (I launched my website in September 2024) all of my metrics have improved since launching my new brand and new website. My organic search traffic was up 128% over the same period the year prior...and page views were up 446%. I'm finding that the website has made it easier for prospective clients to see some of my prior work as they make decisions on who they want to work with. I've been so so pleased with my new website and know it is set-up to grow and evolve with me moving forward.
